Seeing Others Through God’s Eyes
Matthew 9:35-37
Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area,
teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom.
And he healed every kind of disease and illness.
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because
they were confused and helpless,
like sheep without a shepherd.
He said to his disciples,
'The harvest is great, but the workers are few.'
How’s your vision?
Do you ever wonder what it would be like to see the world from God’s eyes?
According to Matthew’s gospel, when Jesus saw the crowds around him, he was moved to compassion
for them. If the body of Christ is going to have 20/20 vision, we have to start looking at others
the way Jesus did. We must truly see them, and we must respond to what we see—with compassion.
